Custom Views

Custom views on the Item grid let you save the way you’ve arranged a grid (which columns show, how they’re sorted, and any filters) so you can switch back to that setup with a click. This page shows you how views work and how to manage them.

  • You create a view on the Item grid you want to remember so open that grid first and arrange it the way you like.
  • A view saves the layout (columns, sort order, and filters), not the data. Records that match the filters change as your inventory changes.
  • If you want a view that everyone can use, save it as a global view. Making a view global may require the right permission; if you don’t see the option, ask an administrator.

You create a custom view from the Item Grid:

  1. Arrange the grid the way you like it: show or hide columns, reorder them, sort, and apply any filters.
  2. Click Save View to save the current layout as a new view.
  3. Give the view a name (and, optionally, a description) so you can find it again.

From then on, you can pick that view from the grid to instantly return to the same columns and filters.

To see and tidy up the views you’ve created, open the Settings (gear) menu and choose Manage Views. The list shows each view along with:

  • Its name and description.
  • Whether it’s a global view (shared with others) or just your own.
  • When it was created and last updated, and by whom.

You can filter and sort this list to find a particular view quickly.

To remove a view you no longer need, click the delete icon on its row in Manage Views and confirm.

  • My view didn’t save the filter I applied. Make sure the filter is actually applied to the grid (not just typed into a filter box) before you save the view. Re-open the grid, apply the filter, then save.
  • A grid isn’t opening with my default view. A default applies per grid. Confirm the view is marked as the default for that specific grid, and that you haven’t since applied and saved a different default.
  • I can’t delete a view. Some views may be protected or owned by another user. If the delete icon isn’t shown on a row, you don’t have permission to remove that view.
  • Other people can’t see my view. Personal views are visible only to you. Save the view as global to share it.
